Justin Hines' New Video Shows Seldom Seen Side of South Africa
Online, July 13, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Justin Hines' hit song, "Say What You Will", from the Chasing Silver album was embraced by an international audience. On iTunes, it was the top download for a singer-songwriter and it was one of the most emailed videos on the Sympatico.ca portal. When inDiscover.net debuted the video remix from his new "SOUTH AFRICA" EP, the powerful Internet portal also launched Hines' campaign to build schools in South Africa.
Port Elizabeth producer, Bronwen Nel, felt strongly that "Say What You Will" would resonate within her community. She did a remarkable remix incorporating the Seta/Siyaya Learner Choir and the Keynote Acapella Group as well as the children of Despatch and St. Elizabeth's primary schools and Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network-supported 7 Fountains.
The video continues the "white-board" mash-up that made the original version so popular. It depicts a vision of South Africa unlike the stereotypes capturing not only the evident challenges but also the joy, hope and inspiration of the children. Even Archbishop Desmond Tutu created his own whiteboard message of hope for the video and so began Justin's "Say What You Will - Give What You Will" fundraising drive.
50% of all sales will benefit the Stephen Leacock Foundation for Children, which has a presence in South Africa and The Association for the Physically Disabled (Eastern Cape) as well as several other charitable organizations.
The "South Africa" EP includes the "Say What You Will" and "Chasing Silver" remixes as well as "Courage (Come Out To Play)" and the South African version of the "Say What You Will" video. The video and full EP are available at inDiscover.net and was broadcast in South Africa during the recent World Cup.
