KBE Building Corporation Donates Health Lodge to WFSB Channel 3's Kids Camp
Online, April 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - In keeping with its long tradition of philanthropy, KBE Building Corporation (KBE) (www.kbebuilding.com) is renovating the campers' health lodge at WFSB Channel 3's Kids Camp in Andover, CT.
The project will completely renovate the existing 600 square foot, single story wood building that serves as an infirmary and nurses' station for the summer camp. The renovation will incorporate new finishes, heating and electrical systems, new roof, and exterior siding.
KBE is providing both a financial donation and construction management services to support the project. The firm has engaged a select group of trade contractors who will donate their time and portion of the construction costs to the project.
The philanthropic effort is part of KBE's 50 Ways to Make a Difference initiative is a year-long community outreach initiative launched in 2009 to celebrate KBE's 50th year in business. The program formalizes the construction company's 50+ year legacy of charitable giving, and focuses on providing support for local children and seniors. The annual program is funded by both significant corporate donations as well as donations and volunteer time contributed by KBE's 120+ employees.
Construction is underway, with a planned completion of June 2012, in time for the start of this season's camping program.
KBE is working with the following subcontracting firms, who are also generously giving their time and dollars to support the program:
• Aiudi Concrete
• Apex Flooring
• Builders Hardware
• Eastford Building Supply
• Greenwood Abatement
• J & B Mechanical Contractors
• M Brett Painting
• MEGA Mechanical
• New England Restoration
• R & L Acoustics
• R & S Construction Services
• Statewide Electric
The health lodge at the WFSB Kids' Camp is undergoing a full renovation, thanks to a major donation effort by KBE Building Corporation and a number of its subcontractors.
Construction on the health lodge is scheduled for completion in early June - in time for the start of the summer camp season.
