Kultiv8 Group Secures Two Major Cannabis Licenses in California: Cultivation (Type 3A) & Manufacturing (Type 7-Level 2)

PASADENA, Calif., March 22, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Kultiv8 Group recently announced that they have been awarded some of the first Temporary Cannabis Licenses in the San Gabriel Valley region of California, one being for cultivation and the other for manufacturing. These two licenses are a significant accomplishment for the team of industry veterans, whose sole focus is on full-service cannabis consulting & management.

For decades, California has led efforts throughout the United States to legalize cannabis, resulting in the state being the first to legalize it for medicinal use on Nov. 5, 1996. Then in November of 2016, voters passed the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (Proposition 64) leading to the legalization of recreational (adult-use) marijuana, which went into full effect on Jan. 1, 2018. Since then, over hundreds of licenses have been awarded to cannabis-related businesses across the state.

Licensing Breakdown
The Cultivation License (Type 3A) allows for the indoor cultivation of cannabis using exclusively artificial lighting between 10,001 and 22,000 square feet, inclusive, of total canopy size on one premises. This is particularly exciting for Kultiv8 Group as the California Department of Food and Agriculture is limiting the number of licenses being awarded with this designation.

The Manufacturing License (Type 7-Level 2) is for sites that manufacture cannabis-based products using certain solvents, or liquids that vaporize at room temperature. The emergency regulations released by the California Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC) state that licenses with this designation shall only manufacture cannabis products for sale by a retailer with an M-Type 10 license.
