La Paulee Aspen 2011
February 15-16, 2011 The Little Nell, Aspen, CO hosts La Paulee Des Neiges
Online, January 5, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Little Nell, Aspen's Five Diamond, Five Star destination hotel, and Daniel Johnnes, Wine Director for Daniel Boulud's Dinex Group and producer of La Paulee de New York, will host a return engagement of one of the most intimate and exclusive epicurean events of the season, La Paulee des Neiges, in glorious Aspen, Colorado.
Pairing some of Burgundy's most sought-after winemakers with four internationally celebrated chefs, La Paulee des Neiges is a high-style extension of La Paulee de New York, an homage to La Paulee de Meursault, the traditional Burgundian fête shared by wine growers and their guests in celebration of the harvest.
THE WINEMAKERS Etienne Grivot from Domaine Jean Grivot, Jean-Marc Roulot from Domaine Roulot, Dominique Lafon from Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Pierre Meurgey from Maison Champy, Christophe Roumier from Domaine G. Roumier and Jean-Pierre de Smet from Domaine de l'Arlot will share rare wines from their private collections.
THE CHEFS Chef D'Honneur Daniel Boulud of Restaurant DANIEL in New York City, will collaborate with Host Chef Ryan Hardy of The Little Nell, 3-star Michelin Chef Michel Troisgros of Restaurant Troisgros in Roanne, France, and Michael Mina, founder and chef of the Mina Group in San Francisco for the creation of two elaborate dining experiences.
THE COLLECTORS DINNER, Tuesday, February 15 - A highlight of La Paulee will be an exclusive dinner with the winemakers at Montagna, The Little Nell's signature Four Star restaurant. Chefs Boulud, Hardy, Mina and Troisgros will prepare a multi-course feast designed to complement rare wines sourced from the winemakers' private cellars. $3250 per person.
LA PAULEE DES NEIGES, Wednesday, February 16 - An exhilarating morning of skiing will be followed by La Paulee's flagship event, a convivial lunch with the winemakers at the private Aspen Mountain Club, normally open only to members and their guests. Special menus created by all-star chefs Daniel Boulud, Ryan Hardy, Michael Mina and Michel Troisgros will be paired with older vintage wines from each attending Domaine. In the spirit of La Paulee, guests are encouraged to bring wines from their personal cellars to be shared along with those of the winemakers. (Non-skiers may ride the Silver Queen Gondola up to lunch, and everyone is invited to ride down.) $500 per person.
For a select few, La Paulee des Neiges is a unique opportunity to mingle with some of Burgundy's most sought-after winemakers, indulge in the cuisine of world-famous chefs, experience the hospitality of The Little Nell and the spectacular beauty of Aspen, Colorado, all while enjoying the world's most exquisite wine.
