Leading Mattress Review Website QMattresseses.com Launches New Ratings Pilot

Leading mattress reviews and information website, QMattresses.com, launches a new ratings system and is currently piloting the system on value mattress reviews to help consumers make better-informed decisions.

Leading mattress reviews and ratings website, QMattresses.com launched its latest mattress ratings system today. With a focus on informing consumers about the industry and its products, the website's new system targets the value-mattress segment as a starting point and rates each mattress it reviews between 1 to 5 stars based on nearly one dozen quantifiable factors.

The unique Mattress Ratings system relies on features and characteristics including owner complaints/feedback, parent-company reputation and market share, mattress warranty coverage and price when arriving at a unique rating.

Although the website has published more than fifty individual Mattress Reviews to date, it is currently piloting the new ratings system on the cheapest mattresses on the market that are available through the nation's top retailers. It classifies the Value Mattress segment based on price and the product's internal spring system (which is also known as the mattress core).

"Given today's economic climate, we felt the Value Mattress segment was the right one to target," admits Christopher Fitch, Site Editor. "Mattresses that fit into this category will typically be sold for under $700 on Sale at top retailers and they definitely draw large crowds into the store. Our system isolates quality mattresses from junk and provides shoppers with yet another resource to help with the purchase decision."

Each new mattress review published on the website will be summarized in a tidy box that highlights key points from the article while identifying which segment the mattress fits in and, lastly, that product's individual rating.

"We take our mandate (of helping and informing consumers) very seriously," Fitch said. "Only the top 10% mattresses will ever earn 5 Stars with 80% receiving 2, 3 or 4 Stars. Because each product is ranked against its peers, there will always be a 1-star mattress. And best of all, as the benchmark changes, so will the ratings. So today's 'top' mattress could be tomorrow's 'dog.' As product engineering and manufacturing improves, it is important that any ratings system adapts as well. Ours changes with the industry, something we feel further positions QMattresses as the leader in mattress reviews."

The ratings system is similar to those used by investment-ratings systems where benchmarks and performance standards change from day to day, quarter to quarter and year to year. "Our true measure of success," adds Fitch, "is helping consumers navigate this difficult industry."
