Light Bureau Illuminate Design House's Showroom in Dalkey, Ireland

Online, April 30, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Light Bureau have recently completed their first lighting design project in Ireland with the opening of the new Dalkey showroom of Design House, a company that individually designs and manufactures handcrafted kitchens.

Located near Dublin, Dalkey is a busy, upmarket town and Design House service an important sector of the residential market from this showroom. Called upon by Garuda Design to raise the lighting to an exceptional level to reflect the quality of the Design House brand, Light Bureau rose to the challenge by creating a considered, flexible and integrated lighting design solution.

The showroom is within an old residential building; ceilings are high and the footprint is a deep space, with minimum benefit of daylight from windows only at the front of the showroom. The client made it clear that the new lighting design had to satisfy a number of needs including the obvious one of client visits during normal shop hours, but also of parties and reception events in the evening.

Light Bureau achieved lighting brief by integrating light fittings into the top of a central ceiling raft over the main island display and to the perimeter cupboards. Light Bureau used 2 different tones of lighting - a cool and a warm source to balance the light perfectly between supporting the daylight in the deep space and alternately creating a warm, convivial effect for parties in the evening. Clever lighting details are concealed to displays, cupboards and at skirting height with LED sources to enhance the client's product and to create visual interest.
