Local Author Shares Her Story to Help Other Women
Online, February 13, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Marta Torres Cuminotto, owner of Absolutely Permanent Hair Removal in the city of Shelton, CT reached a milestone in her life when she was published in a book titled "Empowering Transformations for Women- True Stories of Purpose, Faith, and Action." The book reached the Amazon.com Top Ten Bestseller list in three categories.
This empowering new anthology book is a collection of short stories by 40 women from
various backgrounds - Marta being one of them. The authors share their individual stories
of transformation through adversity, self-discovery and spiritual awakening. In her
chapter, The Hero In My Life, Marta starts out by saying, "Today I forgave my mother and
my perpetrators. Today I fully embrace and accept the little girl who'd been hurting for
years."
With this as her introduction, Marta opens up about a life transformation that took years.
Her chapter The Hero In My Life was born, says Marta, when she heard that a national
women's networking group was on a search of 40 women as contributing authors. Marta
knew she had a story she wanted to tell and this was the vehicle - and the right time.
Prior to the book's launch, Marta was interviewed by Sue Urda, co-founder of Powerful
You! Inc. Sue Urda, along with Kathy Flyer are authors themselves, and the women
credited for compiling the anthology book. When asked by Sue Urda how her relationships
had benefited as a result of her transformational journey, Marta replied, "I have grown so
much in my relationships. My relationships now, are more honest and real. I've learned
the importance of setting boundaries. I have also learned how to give myself permission
to say "No" to toxic, unhealthy relationships that bring me down and take away my power,
and not feel guilty that I have done someone wrong.
Marta will be one of two speakers at the Shelton Plumb Memorial Library Program "Breathe Deep" on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Her presentation "Once Upon A Transformation" will move women who are undergoing challenging personal circumstances to Look Up and "Breathe Deep" because they HAVE the power to defy the odds and overcome - just like she has.
