Local Landmark Celebrates 30 Years of St. Patrick's Day Festivities
Mike O'Shay's Restaurant and Ale House Holiday Tradition Reaches Three Decades
Online, March 8, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Mike O'Shay's Restaurant and Ale House will mark their 30th St. Patrick's Day as a Colorado staple of the holiday. With the same owner, same location and many of the same employees, the restaurant will recognize this milestone with their biggest celebration yet.
The first Mike O'Shay's St. Patrick's Day was celebrated on March 17, 1981 with bagpipes, hundreds of orders of corned beef and cabbage, and kegs of Guinness. Since then, every year the local tradition has multiplied in size and tradition.
This year will pull together three decades of St. Patty's spirit for the restaurant as it culminates major changes such as a large renovation that included the addition of a patio, more tables and seating and a new menu.
"O'Shay's embodies the spirit and friendly atmosphere of small town Colorado and that all comes together for St. Patrick's Day," said Mike Shea, Owner of Mike O'Shay's Restaurant and Ale House. "This day is about togetherness, fun and food, and we celebrate it right at home with our friends."
St. Patrick's Day festivities will begin at 10am on March 17 and include performances by the Ft. Collins Pipe Band, other various musical performances, and a special menu consisting of corned beef and cabbage, Irish potato skins, bangers and mash, Irish egg rolls, Emerald Isle salmon, beef barley soup and shepherds pie.
