Registration is open for the Second Annual Loop the Lake for Literacy to be held Saturday, February 25, around Lake Okeechobee. Florida Crystals is Presenting Sponsor with Domino Sugar and Levenger as Gold Sponsors. It benefits the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County.

Stages of riders include:

"Sonnet" Ride 15 mile

"Short Story" Ride 31 miles

"Novel" Ride 45 miles

"Classic" Ride 62 mile

"Epic" Ride 115 mile

With the registration is a t-shirt, breakfast and lunch. Types of registration are Individual, Team Captain or Team Member. The group with the most members will receive an award in addition to the team that raises the most money for literacy. Registrants will be allowed to monitor their times and check their stats against other riders at the finish line.

Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative, Peak Metrics, Park Avenue BBQ & Grille and the Belle Glade Rotary Club are Bronze Sponsors, while Palm Beach County Sports Commission and the First Citizens Bank are Support Sponsors. Rio-Bak, the Belle Glade Lions Club and Bank of Belle Glade are other sponsors. The events' Honorary Chair is Dolly Hand. The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach helps children, adults and families strengthen their literacy skills so they may work, go to school and navigate through life. Approximately one in seven adults in Palm Beach County have literacy issues.
