Los Angeles Women's Lacrosse Secures A Spot In The Prague Cup

Los Angeles Women's Lacrosse, a company dedicated to the advancement of the sport of lacrosse, has secured a spot in the elite adult division of the Prague Cup. This international tournament is notorious for uniting the best competition in the world.

LOS ANGELES, CA - February 14, 2010 - Los Angeles Women's Lacrosse (LA Women's LAX) is coordinating its first ever European trip, highlighted by a spot in the elite division of the 2010 Prague Cup. The tournament will feature the world's top talent in post-collegiate division, which LAWL is proud to have a part in.

The tournament begins on June 22, and ends on June 26, 2010. Hosted close to the city center of Prague, LAWL will be putting up a team of 18 girls for this amazing cultural experience. While the tournament only lasts four days, LAWL will be arriving in Prague early on the 21st and leaving on the 28th of June.

Co-founder and coach Alison Brittain, has personal experience playing lacrosse in Europe, being part of the 2006 Heidelberg lacrosse team in Heidelberg, Germany. "As a part of my educational stay abroad, I was granted the opportunity to play on an international team, which sparked my interest in world-lacrosse. Playing against teams overseas, especially those that don't speak your language, is a humbling and incredible experience. It truly unites us through our shared passion in the sport."

In terms of the level of competition, Brittain says "We're in for a tough tournament. The Czech national team and team Amsterdam are stellar. With the talent we'll be playing with and against, you'll be lucky to see more than a handful of dropped balls." Co-coach Juliet Mittlemann has also taken an international team to Japan, and says "I look forward to seeing the level of competition in Europe. This will be a very unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone involved."

Los Angeles Women's Lacrosse is still looking for players at the competitive level. Cost for the tournament, including airfare, rounds out at $2500. Registration can be found on the company website, www.lawomenslax.com/panthers-interest-form.html.

LA Women's LAX also sponsors youth leagues and high school travel teams, as well as tournaments, clinics and other opportunities for players of all ages. For more information and/or to learn more about LA Women's Lacrosse programs and leadership, please visit our website at: www.lawomenslax.com.
