FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Mobile County Commission Passes Resolution Supporting Incorporation Efforts in the Semmes Community

Semmes, AL - January 11, 2010 -- Today the Mobile County Commission passed a resolution supporting the incorporation efforts of the residents of the Semmes Community.

The Friends of Semmes, a non-profit community organization, greatly appreciates the support of the Mobile County Commission in our effort to incorporate Semmes.

In light of the migration of residents into the Semmes Community and the western part of Mobile County, incorporation is important and will give the residents a voice in the growth, future and quality of life in Semmes.

The incorporation of Semmes will also benefit and not hinder the City of Mobile. Incorporation will not duplicate services, but will instead consolidate thereby saving tax dollars.

The incorporation process is extensive and requires a great deal of effort and commitment of many volunteers in our community. The decision to incorporate was well thought out and planned and has enjoyed tremendous support.
