National Women's Health Expert Says a Good Sex Life Equals a Healthy Life

Women's health expert Dr. KaNisha Hall says her new book is the "prescription" women need to feel better and live life with more confidence

Dr. KaNisha Hall's new book is just the prescription women need to be more confident.

Studies show that today’s women are not putting their health or their sexual well-being first, according to the Women’s Healthcare Innovation and Leadership Showcase (WHILS). Sixty-two percent of women admit to having unsatisfactory sex lives and eighty percent of women surveyed put their own health after that of their children, partners, and pets. National women’s health expert and sexual counselor Dr. KaNisha Hall plans to use her book and high-profile media appearances to help rectify that so women can live longer, healthier and more satisfactory lives. Her book, “Sex After…A Woman’s Guide to Empowered and Enhanced Sexual Experiences in The Evolution of Life” demonstrates how to create life balance in life and enhance sexual health.

“As I was in the process of receiving my medical degrees, I had the opportunity to travel and talk to people all over the globe,” says Hall. “Over and over again, I would talk to women whose sex life was unfulfilling. I found that those who didn’t nurture their sexual needs had other health and satisfaction issues, as well. Having a healthy sex life has a profound impact on all aspects of life, which is why I knew that I had to redirect my energies and focus.”

Adding to her Howard University Medical degree, Dr. Hall completed a Master’s in Counseling with a focus on sexual health and sexuality counseling. Today, she manages a medical practice that focuses on comprehensive wellness in addition to conducting counseling sessions, lecturing at institutes and associations and acting as a personal coach for those who need additional support. This type of workload has forced Hall to pull together her knowledge as a medical practitioner and counselor into one comprehensive guidebook, “Sex After…”

“’Sex After…’ is basically my lecture condensed into written form so that it can be distributed to a wider audience,” says Hall.

She offers her audiences Five Tips to Sexual Empowerment:

1. Permission - Everything begins with permission, so give yourself permission to live in the moment and feel.

2. Clean the Slate - Forget everything you thought you knew about sex.

3. Be Open - Be open to learning about your body, your wants, and your partner’s body.

4. Don’t Knock It Until You Try It - No one can honestly say they won’t like something until after they’ve tried it.

5. Never Give Up - You are never too old to get back in the game, even if you are the only player.

In addition to her book, Dr. Hall developed her own intimate accessory website (www.perform2please.com) where women can discreetly purchase items that were made for women’s pleasure. She believes that women need their own site, their own space to explore what works for them. Perform 2 Please has products expressly for women, making it easier for women who have not purchased intimate accessories to get started.

“Sex After…”, her accessory line, and her speaking programs all work in tandem to create a more evolved plan to raise attitudes about sexuality for women and to make more information available to women who may not have been raised with sex-positive attitudes.
