New Mobile Application Announcement - 'Doomsday 2012' Approaching One Year Left

Announcing release of the Android Mobile Application "Doomsday 2012" by Garret Mobile App Developer. It counts down the time until the Mayan-inspired end of the world on Dec 21, 2012.

Hitting Android Market this week, as we approach December 21st, is a new Android app geared toward displaying how much time until the end of the world, in real-time.

Doomsday, predicted to be on December 21, 2012, is a popular culture phenomenon, spawning numerous books, countless websites and a Hollywood Blockbuster. It began with the Mayan calendar abruptly ending on December 21, 2012 and has grown to include a host of new theories; natural disasters, nuclear war, and even the passing near Earth's orbit of a mysterious planet called Nibiru. The one thing these theories all have in common is the date.

Garret, the Mobile App Developer, has created a graphics-oriented "Doomsday 2012" mobile application for Android phones. It is the only 2012 timer on the market that calculates the Years, Months, Weeks, Days, Hours, Minutes and Seconds until Doomsday on December 21, 2012 and uses a graphic implementation to display the countdown timer in real-time. It is available in English, French and German versions.

This announcement coincides closely with the countdown reaching one year left. As the time runs out, users can clearly and easily keep track of precisely how much time is left until the date is reached. The application supports Portrait as well as Landscape views, with specific graphic support for all phones: small, low density screens to large high-definition displays.

Also programmed is a "Quit" button, that stops the application running when the user exits; because they might need those system resources for alerting family and friends, when the time comes.

The application prides iself on being very easy to use, easy to read and to mesh with the theme of Doomsday. "I am excited to release a mobile application with this kind of mass appeal" said Garret on Thursday. "The whole idea is both serious and scary, and lighthearted fun. Like Y2K, only I think people are a little wiser these days and it's just something to have fun with."

It is available on Android Market right now.
