New Montgomery Restaurant to Recruit Chefs Through an Exciting Cook-Off Competition

MONTGOMERY, Ala., December 4, 2019 (Newswire.com) - The popular Auburn restaurant Pannie-George’s Kitchen will be opening its second location in Montgomery, Alabama, in late January. The restaurant is seeking five chefs between both locations and will be hosting a cook-off competition in partnership with the Alabama Department of Labor and Carver High School’s Culinary Arts Department. A total of 12 contestants will be accepted. This exciting cook-off competition will be held at Carver High School at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019.  The grand prize winner will secure the position of Chef De Cuisine and the four additional winners will be awarded Sous Chef positions under the guidance of Executive Chef Sidney Corum. Pannie-George’s Kitchen will also offer internships and apprenticeships to Carver Culinary Program students.

ABOUT PANNIE-GEORGE’S KITCHEN:

The name Pannie-George’s comes from combining the names of our grandparents, Mary and George Taylor. However, the restaurant pays respect to these colossal figures in the life of their children and their community. Pannie is the nickname for Mary Taylor, wife of George Taylor. Because of this large family, there were always occasions for large cooking events, which in turn equipped Pannie and George’s children with ample knowledge of how to cook southern-style food. These God-given talents for cooking became the foundation for Pannie-George’s Kitchen.
