New Product Development Firm Donates to National Audubon Society's Gulf Relief Efforts through Nationwide Giveaway
Online, August 17, 2010 (Newswire.com) - PITTSBURGH, PA. - Davison, a new product development firm that builds new product ideas for corporations and independent inventors, is expanding its "Find the 'D' and You Could Win Money!" giveaway to benefit the National Audubon Society's efforts to save wildlife affected by the Gulf oil spill. In addition to awarding the randomly chosen winner of the giveaway with a $500 gift card to a store that carries Davison products and packaging solutions, the firm will donate $10 for every one of the first 100 contest entries to the Audubon Society's Gulf oil spill recovery effort from now until Aug. 31.
"We've all been touched by the heartbreaking images of oil-soaked birds fighting to survive during this terrible crisis in the Gulf," said George Davison, founder and CEO. "We wanted to do something to help, and we thought this was a good way to get more people involved while helping to support those who are on the front lines, fighting day in and day out to save the wildlife."
The Pittsburgh firm chose Audubon to receive the donation because of the organization's longtime mission to conserve and restore natural ecosystems and its new national Volunteer Response Center, which, according to Audubon, was "gearing up to channel the energies of a growing force of volunteers seeking to help birds, wildlife and habitat to weather the assault of the Gulf oil spill."
Davison launched its "Find the 'D' and You Could Win Money!" giveaway to celebrate the milestone of 150+ products and packaging solutions designed by Davison that have sold in over 500 different retail outlets, which represents more than 35,000 brick-and-mortar locations throughout the U.S.
Although headquartered near Pittsburgh, PA., products and packaging designed by Davison can be found in stores all across the country. The firm of 250 employees credits its success to George Davison's unique method of building ideas into products that makes the process affordable for inventors, entrepreneurs and corporations.
"We have refined our method to the point that we are now able to transform the ideas of average people, as well as those of corporations, into actual products on the store shelves at a greater rate and consistency than any other company in our industry."
The inventor and fourth-generation businessman is also becoming known as "the Henry Ford of inventing" because he brought the process of affordable inventing to the average person, just as Henry Ford made the automobile affordable to the masses.
"I find it extremely rewarding to be able to help the everyday idea person bring their idea for a new product to life, and then hear their reaction after they actually see it in packaging and on the store shelf," Davison said. "There's nothing more exciting."
The "Find the 'D' and You Could Win Money!" giveaway has drawn entries from every region of the country. The first two winners, Stephanie, from Colorado, and Diana, from Maryland, each chose $500 gift cards to Walmart. Participants in the giveaway need only find a Davison-designed product or package in a store, take a photo of themselves with the product and submit it. A list of Davison products and the brick-and-mortar stores that carry them can be found at www.davison.com. The next winner will be drawn on Aug. 31.
