New Website Launched by The Glasgow Doctor Who Society

Online, May 11, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The Glasgow Doctor Who Society have launched a brand new website at http://www.glasgowdoctorwho.com/

The new site already features a lot of content about the group, including details of its long history and the many events which the society have organised in Glasgow over that time.

The group hope to have even more online in the very near future, including the ability to order or download fanzines written and contributed to by its members, download specially recorded podcasts about popular BBC TV show and the group members' love of the show, audio commentaries by the group's members on various episodes of the Doctor Who, details of when Doctor Who stars will be visiting Glasgow and the surrounding area for theatrical tours, events and signings, and much more.

Formed in 1982, the society have one of the highest memberships in Scotland for a group of its type. Over its thirty year history, the group have organised several charity events featuring the stars of the TV show, Doctor Who, and details of some of these events are featured on the brand new website, with more information on both the group and its events being added on a regular basis.

The group's core is still its personal meetings, and they still meet regularly, on the First and Third Sunday of every month, upstairs at the Crystal Palace, 36 Jamaica Street, Glasgow, from 7pm onwards. This has been the location of the group's meetings for the last eight years of their thirty year history.

Membership of the group is free of charge and details of how to contact the group and join them at the next meeting are featured on the new website.
