Nicki Minaj - Billboard's Rising Star 2011

Online, November 28, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The famed singer and rapper, was bestowed with the Billboard's Rising Star 2011 title on November 23, 2011. The honor came as a result of the resounding success the star made in her album 'Pink Friday.' In the recently American Music Awards, she even held two trophies. Her phenomenal stardom has paved way for Nicki to reach the Billboard Women in Music to be held on December 2, 2011, in the New York City.

Minaj is also set to release her second album on February 14, next year which will be called 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.' It has been aptly named after her alter ego Roman Zolanski. The 28 year old from New York has stormed the charts of Billboard this year, and was the first ever artist to have seven songs in the Hot 100 singles' chart, which included hits like: "Your Love", "Super Bass", and "Fly." Pink Friday was however the No.1 song on the Billboard charts.

Minaj is the No.4 recipient of the award, and follows Jazmine Sullivan who won the award in 2010 and Lady Gaga in 2009. On her latest upcoming release Minaj did not reveal much, whether it's a revamp or a totally new collection.
