NJCU and Eduscape Partner to Offer Graduate Credit for ISTE Educator Certification

New Jersey City University (NJCU) has entered into a partnership with Eduscape that offers educators who complete the ISTE Educator Certification the opportunity to earn three (3) graduate credits. ISTE Certification is a competency-based, vendor-neutral teacher certification based on the ISTE Standards for Educators. It recognizes educators who use technology for learning in meaningful and transformative ways.

Supporting the ISTE Educator Certification is a logical fit for NJCU’s Educational Technology Program, whose internationally-recognized and accredited online programs are leading the field in learning with project-based strategies, emerging technologies, and standards alignment.

“I am very excited about our partnership. Eduscape is a premier organization who has facilitated workshops for hundreds of thousands of learners empowering them to transform classrooms into engaging, learner-centered environments. This partnership offers teachers the opportunity to extend their learning even further by receiving graduate credits and the opportunity to pursue a graduate degree in Educational Technology at NJCU,” stated Dr. Laura Zieger, Chairperson of the Department of Educational Technology at NJCU.

Educators from across the United States and overseas have pursued the ISTE Educator Certification as a powerful indication of their commitment and knowledge of using technology in the classroom to drive pedagogy. Several award-winning schools and districts now use the Certification as a pre-requisite for outside professional development providers. It goes well beyond application-based certifications by empowering educators to genuinely integrate technology as part of their instructional design in deep and meaningful ways.

“We are so proud to be partnered with NJCU and their outstanding Educational Technology Department to add more value to educators who complete the ISTE Educator Certification. As an educator, combining programs from NJCU with an ISTE Cert demonstrate a commitment to excellence and innovative practices in the classroom. ISTE Certified educators are modeling best practices for their peers and students each day.” stated Alex Urrea, Eduscape’s Founder and Managing Partner.

NJCU will also be hosting ISTE Educator Certification events beginning on December 5th and 6th. For more information, go to: https://eduscape.com/event/iste-certification-njcu
