Nobel Charitable Trust and WeForest in new, unique collaboration!

Brussels 26 June 2010 12.00h 20 million km² of new forests to halt Climate Change and secure energy for millions of people

WeForest is creating a movement to restore half of the degraded land around the world. The Nobel Charitable Trust promotes the development and use of renewable and sustainable energy. The two organizations have joined forces today to develop and promote renewable & sustainable energy in ecosystem restoration around the world.
Forests create clouds and halt climate change and can resolve fuel-poverty.
WeForest projects reserve 10% of the seedlings for agro-forestry (i.e. for human use) planting around the forest. This directly and quickly benefits the local population with groves of fruit, fuel, and construction trees. The remaining 90% of seedlings are genuine reforestation and designed to restore the natural environment of the region.
