About the Author

Wazir Akbar Shpoon is a product of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. His family escaped from Kabul, fearing Soviet persecution of his father, Saduddin Shpoon, a prominent intellectual. He lost several family members to war against the Soviet and then against the Taliban. Wazir was forced to move to Pakistan, then Denmark and finally to the United States. He currently lives in South Florida with his wife and two children.
