NYC Gamification Summit to Focus on Game Techniques Radically Reshaping Advertising, Enterprise, Health and More
Online, April 27, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Gamification, the hotly debated trend that's radically reshaping how we work, shop and employ play in our culture is the focus of the Gamification Summit NYC conference, taking place in downtown Manhattan on September 15 and 16, 2011. Announced today, the event delves into how the techniques of social games and game mechanics can be used to engage audiences and drive behavior change in advertising, finance, branding, publishing, education, health, the enterprise and more. Executives and designers across key industries will come together at the Gamification Summit NYC to uncover the facts, share case studies and disseminate best practices that drive the engagement economy.
"Industries like Media, Finance, Publishing and Startups are seeing a rapid rise in gamified activity," said Gabe Zichermann, Chair of the Gamification Summit. "New York is already playing a lead role in the gamification field, which is projected to be well over one billion* dollars within the next four years."
Registration is now open at http://GSummit.com and follows on January's sold out west coast premiere of the event, produced by Gamification Co. Confirmed sessions include a keynote by Susan Bonds, the visionary designer behind Flynn Lives (for Tron Legacy) who's engaged millions of fans in the real world on behalf of big media brands. Featured speakers also include Kevin Richardson (MTV Networks) whose gamified speed camera effectively reduced speeding in Sweden; the Microsoft Office Labs team behind Ribbon Hero, the world's most popular "serious" enterprise software game; and Geoff Lewis, founder of TopGuest, a startup blurring the lines between traditional loyalty programs, location based networks and games.
Selected other speakers include representatives from Google, SAP, The University of Pennsylvania, Scholastic, Pearson, Playboy, NBC/Universal, RecycleBank, Kiip and AirAsia, with more speakers to be announced. Gamification Summit NYC also offers an in-depth, hands-on gamification workshop where attendees can apply game techniques to their product or strategy led by experts in the field such as Zichermann, author of Gamification by Design (OReilly, 2011). Platinum event sponsors include gamification platform leaders Badgeville and BunchBall. Registration is strictly limited.
In addition to producing the Gamification Summit conferences and workshops, Gamification Co publishes the definitive blog resource on the subject at Gamification.co and supports the growth of this important and transformative industry with videos, books and consulting.
