Ohio Naval Militia Prepares for Change of Command

Major General Gregory L. Wayt, Adjutant General of Ohio has appointed Captain David E. Kissel as Commandant of the Ohio Naval Militia with the rank of Rear Admiral, Lower Half; effective 0001 August 1, 2010.

Major General Gregory L. Wayt, Adjutant General of Ohio has appointed Captain David E. Kissel as Commandant of the Ohio Naval Militia with the rank of Rear Admiral, Lower Half; effective 0001 August 1, 2010. Admiral Kissel will relieve Acting Commandant, Captain Albert F. Schmidt, Jr., who assumed command last May upon the retirement of RDML David E. Ozvat. Details of the Change of Command ceremony will be provided in the coming weeks.

The Ohio Naval Militia [ONM] is an organized, unarmed, all volunteer unit that has been serving the State of Ohio and our nation since 1896. The unit serves under Ohio's Adjutant General and its operational headquarters is on the Camp Perry Training Site, just outside of Port Clinton, Ohio, on the shores of Lake Erie.
