One Million Trees for New York City
Emerald Brand's "Green Team" Helped New York Reach Its One Million Tree Goal
Syosset, New York, November 20, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Emerald Brand is proud to announce that its efforts to save trees and give back to the community became a success this fall season when Million Trees NYC finally planted its millionth tree two years ahead of schedule.
Emerald Brand’s “Green Team” volunteered to plants trees at Million Trees NYC event about a year ago and it is a huge accomplishment to see that Emerald’s efforts assisted in accomplishing such an amazing goal. The Empire State Building will be illuminated in forest green to celebrate these accomplishments and this huge step to become a greener and more environmental city.
“For over 15 years we’ve been saving trees by using renewable alternatives, like sugarcane fiber, to make our paper products,” says Ralph Bianculli, President and CEO of Paradigm Group, Emerald Brands parent company. “It seems only natural that the next step would be to plant new trees for future generations to enjoy.”
Emerald Brand is dedicated to reducing environmental impact while saving trees and the world’s natural resources. Emerald Brand focuses its product development on global conservation efforts and sustainability by use of tree-free, biodegradable materials, and plant-based phosphate and chlorine-free ingredients in its products.
MillionTreesNYC, one of the 132 PlaNYC initiatives, is a citywide, public-private program with an ambitious goal: to plant and care for one million new trees across the City's five boroughs over the next decade.
