Open Call for NH Musicians and Performers

Bras Across the River event benefits breast cancer research and awareness

Performers have the opportunity to showcase their talents at this year's Bras Across the River event, to be held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, on the Bridge Street bridge in downtown Manchester.

The event takes over the bridge, with food vendors, a sidewalk art show by NH Institute of Art and children's activities, as well as singers, bands and dancers, among others. Thousands are expected to attend this second annual event, which is fantastic exposure for local artists - as well as a unique way to support the cause.

"We'd love to see a wide variety of entertainment," said WZID's Lucie Chakmakas, event organizer of Bras Across the River. "Musicians, artists, mime performers, jugglers, stilt walkers - you name it! This is a family-friendly event, so we want entertainers that people of all ages will find enjoyable."

Those who are interested can sign up online by going to http://www.BrasAcrossTheRiver.com and filling out the form on the Performers page.

Bras Across the River is a celebration of life and a remembrance for those who have lost their cancer battle. More than $20,000 was raised at last year's inaugural event. The event will benefit St. Joseph Hospital Breast Care Center and New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition.

Bras Across the River was created by 95.7 WZID FM, is presented by Velcro USA Inc. and supported by AutoFair, Bellwether Community Credit Union, Hannaford and St. Joseph Hospital Breast Care Center.
