Oquendo Center To Host CE Course For GP's And Specialists
Online, October 17, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The state of the art, Oquendo Center will be hosting a 3 day comprehensive course through November 2, 2012 to November 4, 2012 on the topic of "Minimally Invasive Joint Surgery and Arthroscopy. Don Hulse and Brian Beale will instruct the course. The course is designed for general practitioners and specialists who are interested in learning minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of OCD (shoulder, elbow, stifle, tarsus), shoulder instability, elbow dysplasia, cranial cruciate ligament disease, meniscal tears and collateral ligament tears.
The course teaches techniques employing traditional arthrotomy, arthroscopy and arthroscopic-assisted arthrotomy. Arthroscopic assisted arthrotomy is a new method of arthroscopy that is easy to learn and has all of the advantages of traditional arthroscopy including better visualization, magnification and better surgical precision. This new method requires less startup costs and is ideal for general practitioners and specialists.
The process involves inserting an arthroscope into a mini-arthrotomy allowing for quick and precise treatment of most joint disorders. This technique can be learned in about a day and trains the surgeon over time to perform traditional arthroscopy. The Oquendo Center will provide cadavers for all laboratory procedures. Upon completion of the course, participants should be competent at diagnosis and treatment of the joint disorders discussed above.
This course is RACE approved for 24 hours of continuing education. The course registration fee with lodging is $1,875.00. The cost of the course without lodging is $1,575.00.
