Painted Axe Features Guitar at Indianapolis Mayor's Art Exhibition
Online, July 7, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Painted Axe will join the Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard's Local Artist Exhibition, running July 28 through December 17, 2010.
A July 28 open house in the Mayor's office kicks off the exhibition, which features about 25 Indianapolis-based artists. All Indianapolis and Marion County employees - about 7,000 -- will be invited to the open house, which runs from 3:30-4:30 pm.
"We are very excited by the Mayor's Local Artist Exhibition," said Michael Gauf, of Painted Axe. "It's great to see strong local and influential commitment to the arts. We look forward to mixing and mingling with the other artists and exhibition attendees."
Painted Axe submitted "Final Lap" for the exhibit, which features an auto racing theme on an Indiana telecaster-like guitar. You can see the guitar at http://www.paintedaxe.com/gallery/customguitars.html.
"The Mayor is going to love this ["Final Lap" guitar]," said Amy Waggoner, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard's assistant chief of staff, "We are excited about the unique addition!"
According to Gauf, the commitment to Mayor Ballard's exhibition marks the start to a very busy season for Painted Axe. Major announcements concerning partnerships with prestigious Blues festivals and other events are forthcoming.
