Philadelphia City Rowing Announces Environmental Education Grant From the William Penn Foundation

Funding will expand environmental education and on-water access to the Schuylkill River

Philadelphia City Rowing (PCR) is pleased to announce it has been awarded an $82,500 grant from the William Penn Foundation. This funding will allow PCR to formalize the environmental education portion of its programming and improve access by supporting increased participation.

The grant provides for the development and implementation of an environmental educational curriculum tailored to PCR participants and will allow PCR to offer increased access to the Delaware River watershed, including the Schuylkill River, area for 7th through 12th grade students attending public or charter school in Philadelphia.

"Through the William Penn Foundation's generosity, we are excited to offer more opportunities for PCR participants to connect to our watershed. The addition of environmental education will help PCR continue to meet its mission of providing multifaceted positive youth development programming that empowers the next generation of Philadelphians, helping them become informed, healthy, and engaged stewards of our community."
