Plums Lingerie Reaches Final Of Two National Business Awards
Online, September 28, 2010 (Newswire.com) - A local lingerie boutique has achieved national recognition by being shortlisted for two national awards. Plums Lingerie has been shortlisted for the prestigious Drapers Magazine Lingerie Retailer of the Year and has been selected as a regional finalist for the HSBC Start Up Stars Awards.
The Drapers Awards are in their 20th year and the winner will be announced at a glamorous event in London at the Grosvenor Hotel on 17th November.
Tricia Rees, Partner at Plums Lingerie said 'We are so thrilled to reach the finals for this award, we are so lucky to have had such great support for our business from customers and suppliers. It is amazing that we are up against such businesses such as Debenhams, it's a real David and Goliath story'.
The news of reaching the finals of the Drapers Award for Lingerie Retailer of the Year followed Plums Lingerie reaching the Regional Finals for the HSBC Start Up Stars Award.
Now in their 10th year, the Awards celebrate the achievements of the best new entrepreneurial talent in the UK including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. The Regional Judges have sifted through the nominations to find the most inspiring young businesses in each of ten UK regions.
Plums Lingerie is the only business from the Channel Islands to reach the regional finals and first reached the regional finals for this award in 2008. Katherine Salt, partner at Plums Lingerie said, ' I can't believe we have reached this stage again. I guess we must be doing something right!'
The award is given to a business that can show sustainable growth, backed by sound planning strategies, as well as creative thinking. They need to show that they not only have an outstanding product or service, but also a passion for what they do and an ability to turn obstacles into opportunities.
