Polished for Prom Offers Prom Hope to Students in Financial Need
Online, March 20, 2011 (Newswire.com) - For many high school senior girls, the prom is a day they'll never forget: shopping for a dress, making plans with girlfriends to have their hair and nails done, and the evening itself.
This year, three companies are working to give those memories to young women who cannot afford their proms, and whose families are unable to help. The project, Polished for Prom, will make it possible for selected high school seniors in Baltimore, DC, and Philadelphia, who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial hardship, attend their proms.
Spearheaded by Ideal Publicity, The Palladian Agency, and Catirah Consulting, three full service public relations and image consulting agencies, the program will sponsor two seniors at each high school in the area, with participants selected on the basis of financial need and academic standing. The winners will receive the complete prom package which provides a gown, shoes, accessories, hair & make-up, manicure & pedicure, transportation, and a photo package. The runner up's package will include a prom gown, hair & make-up, and manicure & pedicure.
This project was put together to provide young ladies with a memorable prom experience that they will cherish for years to come. Due to economic downturn, many families are unable to provide financial support for extracurricular activities and events. This causes more and more high school students to miss out on one of the most celebrated and highly anticipated moments in their high school careers, senior prom. Polished for Prom organizers believe that every girl deserves the perfect prom in spite of any financial setbacks, and this project is here to make that happen. "We are putting our all into this project", one of Polished for Prom's organizers Raevyn Jones stated. "We want these young ladies to experience a night of fabulous fun. This is their last time to really enjoy themselves before graduation. It's only right that we help them end an amazing four years with a bang".
Additional fundraiser events and initiatives will be announced soon. For more information and to support this cause please visit Polished for Prom at www.polishedforprom.com.
