Ponce Contractors Founder Earns The 2010 Quality & Excellence Trendsetter Award from the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Online, November 17, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce honors outstanding Hispanic entrepreneurs in the Dallas area at their yearly Quality & Excellence Awards ceremony. To be eligible for the award a company must demonstrate innovation and trend making in their ventures and show that they have set an exemplary pace for others to follow. Only the top four performing Hispanic-owned businesses in the DFW Metroplex, ranging in size from $1 million in revenues to over $25 million are chosen to receive this coveted award. These companies have proven themselves among their peers through their distinctive products and services, outstanding execution, excellence in customer service, and notable financial growth. They must also have shown their commitment to the Hispanic and minority community by providing proof of purchases from and referrals to other minority businesses, mentoring and training programs and involvement with the GDHCC and other community non-profits.
Ms. Ponce has had many notable accomplishments since she founded Ponce Contractors in May 2004 including being one of the recipients of the Dallas Business Journal's Minority Business Leader Award, the National Latina Style 2007 award winner, the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Pacesetter Award in 2007 and the recipient of the Silver award for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) presented by the North Central Texas Certification Agency (NCTRCA). Her commitment to her customers and the community is what distinguishes her. She strives to be a good role model for young Latinas who wish to succeed. Starting a business is a challenging endeavor, but it is even more intimidating if you are minority female in the construction business, (a male dominated industry). Her success proves that all is possible, regardless of gender or race.
