This year, the prestigious 24h Le Mans, the most extreme test of skill and endurance in the world of motor racing, will take place on 12th and 13th of June, offering a grid made up of Peugeot, Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Ford and Jaguar. With access to scrutineering and practice sessions, pit visits, a driver's parade and even a UB40 concert, the 24h Le Mans is a whole week of motor racing and entertainment.

British fans will have the thrill of seeing Nigel Mansell, the 1992 Formula One world champion, entering the race for the first time in a team with his sons Leo and Greg Mansell. And for the first time since 1991, a 100% female team will be led by Natacha Gachnang on Ford.

"The event has all the makings of a thrilling race as Audi will be out to take its revenge on Peugeot, which scored a headline-making double in 2009. This makes for exciting stuff and fans have rushed to get their tickets" explained Remy Brouard, Managing Director of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO).

« One month before the event, 90% of stand tickets have been sold. This is the first time that tickets for the race have been sold so quickly. There only remain a few tickets in the best-positioned areas such as on the straight line of the pits and at the braking point of the raccordement. Thanks to our new module of on-line sale on www.lemans.org, a lot of fans have also been able to buy their parking space and their campsite ahead » said Bertrand Vicainne, Head of ticketing of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), the promoter of the 24h Le Mans.

Increasing ticketing income by offering an enhanced experience has been part of the ACO's new revenue optimisation strategy, developed with the assistance of NZConsulting, the London-based marketing strategy consultancy.

About the Automobile Club de l'Ouest :
Established in 1906, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest are the well known organisers of many motor sport events (cars, motorbike, trucks) on the Le Mans circuit. The biggest race in the world was created in 1923 by the ACO: the 24 Hour of Le Mans, and draws each year 250 000 spectators from all horizons.
The attendance of events organised by the ACO, of which the 24 Hours Moto, the Grand Prix de France Moto, Le Mans Classic, the 24 Hours Trucks, etc., amounts to some 750 000 spectators per year.
Thanks to the importance of its infrastructures and professionalism, the ACO answers to all requirements in the field of driving (alerting young drivers, discovery courses, perfecting of preventive driving, anti-aggression courses, training courses for instructors, etc.) and teaches road safety consciousness-raising techniques to 35 000 trainees each year.
For sport enthusiasts, the ACO is also a driving school (auto/moto) created in 1968 which draws 13 000 pupils a year and where talented drivers such as Sebastien Bourdais or Stephane Sarrazin started.
The ACO is a club of 100 000 members who benefit from road security services (breakdown/towing, assistance to persons, legal assistance, courses for the recovery of driving licence points, etc.). Through their membership, the members also contribute to the development of associative life.
The ACO was at the origin of "40 Millions d'Automobilistes", a general interest association which mobilizes the Authorities on road security cases.
