Rafiwashere.com Releases New Bohemian American Music
Online, April 5, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The eccentric duo Rafi and Klee of Rafiwashere.com released their newest Album today. The full album is available for a listen on their website music page.
Traveling around the nation hasn't slowed down these two tireless explorers as they take on the Ultimate road trip in their Exploration America project.
Their music is a blend of many different influences but solely based on their experience during their travels.
"Big things are happening this year at Rafiwashere.com, so keep your ears peeled." Says Rafi, founder of Rafiwwashere.com
Featuring a guitar, a tambourine, and a powerful set of pipes, Rafi & Klee is an eclectic and original acoustic folk group specializing in a unique blend of a variety of styles. As American Bohemians they travel and play music.
Everyone has their beginnings somewhere, so what's their story?
Rafi has been playing music in his head for as long as he can remember, but he just started playing it on guitar a year and a half ago. He did not seek formal training, as he felt this would be a hindrance to cultivating his own unique sound.
"I wanted to develop a style of playing that is mine, one that is strange and innovative, a sound that is both beautiful and grungily raw. The guitar is more than an instrument to be strummed, I want to get every possible sound out of it that I can."
Rafi finds inspiration in sounds ranging from Nirvana to Spanish guitar, carnival music to classical orchestra, a raging storm to a spoon against a pan. But foremost, from himself.
Klee stormed the music scene at the age of six, donning a tutu, some hot pink lipstick, and covering a Janet Jackson song as she jumped on her mother's bed and sang her guts out into a hairbrush.
She then went on to sing for her school choir from the age of 11, all the way to high school graduation. She discovered in choir, that while she didn't care for the sheet music or the nerdy robe, she loved to sing harmonies.
After high school, she spent the next 9 years singing in bands, recording albums, playing shows, and eventually touring the west coast. When she started playing music with Rafi, their synergy was immediately apparent.
"How awesome it is to be so inspired by the music of this person that I am so in love with. We are building this beautiful dynamic sound from the ground up as we travel and expand. We have something truthful and empowering here, and I am darned proud to share it."
