Ahead of UN General Assembly, Protesters Decry Chinese President Xi's Crackdown on Human Rights and Freedom in China and Its Occupied Territories

Resist Xi Rally at the UN

On Sept. 18, activists and local New Yorkers representing various communities – including Tibetans, Uyghurs, Southern Mongolians, Taiwanese, Hong Kongers, Chinese rights advocates and supporters – will be gathered at the UN Plaza to protest Chinese President Xi Jinping’s totalitarian rule and human rights atrocities across China and its occupied territories. The solidarity rally brings together various affected groups that condemn Xi Jinping’s totalitarian rule and his oppressive policies, and demand freedom, democracy and the right to self-determination and political independence. This event is being jointly organized by thirteen leading movement-based organizations. The program will also include a political parody featuring Winnie the Pooh and an ‘Ink Xi Jinping’ action.
