Ras Nas awarded Tanzania Red Carpet Award 2010 for best solo artist

Online, May 4, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Ras Nas has been awarded the Red Carpet Award 2010 for best solo artist in Tanzania. The Award was presented by Smiling Faces Company at Regency Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam on 2nd May and was received on Ras Nas' behalf by Ally Masabo. The Red Carpet Award is an annual event that seeks to highlight achievements by different personalities within the entertainment industry in Tanzania.

"I feel humbled by the honour I have received from Smiling Faces Company" says Ras Nas aka Nasibu Mwanukuzi from Oslo, Norway where he is residing. Ras Nas with the band is taking part in this year's Spring Festival in Egypt and Lebanon. Ras Nas plays in Beirut on 14th and Cairo on 16th May.

Others who received the award include Muhidin Issa Michuzi of Michuzi blog, Dina Marios of Clouds FM and fashion designers Ally Remtullah, Khadija Mwanamboka and Asia Idarous-khamsin. Actor Steven Kanumba was also presented with an award as well as actress Jacqueline Walper.
