RideAfide Celebrates Launch of World's First Rideshare Safety Verification Network
CLERMONT, Fla., September 3, 2019 (Newswire.com) - It can be nerve-wracking for rideshare passengers getting into an Uber, Lyft or other rideshare service - they're not quite sure if it’s the proper vehicle or if they will be safe for the duration of the ride. Recognizing this problem, RideAfide has answered with its new network that deploys a combination of physical identification emblems and a mobile app that allows users to verify their rideshare vehicle and driver credentials quickly on their smartphone.
Rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft have had a revolutionary effect on how people get from place to place, in many cities nearly replacing conventional taxis completely. The problem is with more rideshare options available, it opens the door to more possibilities of being in a dangerous situation. Recent increases in rideshare assaults continue to show up in the news. Stepping up to help is the exciting new app RideAfide, the first independent safety and verification network for the rideshare industry in the form of unique driver emblems and a smartphone app which helps on both ends of the rideshare experience. Drivers get to quickly verify their credentials and remove the concern a rider may have with getting in their car, while passengers can feel safer taking a ride by being able to use the app to verify the vehicle before entering and confirming that the driver has been independently verified. The excitement surrounding the new app is extremely high.
We provide the next level of safety for passengers hiring an Uber, Lyft, or similar service ... with in-app panic buttons, video recording to the cloud and unique emblems displayed on drivers' vehicles.
Brian Chiorello, Founder & CEO
Each driver participant is verified through a 19-point proprietary process and issued a unique and personal RideAfide emblem. The emblem is encoded with the driver’s profile, vehicle identification and license plate number. It is clearly displayed on the vehicle for easy scanning by a mobile phone. The driver is verified as a bonafide rideshare driver before a passenger even enters the vehicle. No more mistakenly getting into the wrong vehicle.
“We provide the next level of safety for passengers hiring an Uber, Lyft, or similar service,” commented Brian Chiorello, founder and CEO of RideAfide. “Our app allows users to quickly scan a driver’s emblem to verify it’s the correct vehicle and driver. Among other features, we have an in-app Panic button that notifies emergency contacts of your location and even a recording feature to capture evidence stored to the cloud in the case of something truly horrifying like an abduction.” Better safe than very sorry. RideAfide also gives rideshare drivers a scannable Driver Identification Card and a credential package to ensure that passengers riding with them can easily identify the added safety value.
The company is hoping that communities and law enforcement agencies will come on board and endorse RideAfide as they see the safety value it delivers, the potential crimes it can help prevent and the lives it could save.
Easy, safe and secure to use, both passengers and drivers can download the app and use it for free. Identify, Verify, Notify ... RideAfide.
