Right C3 Awards First Round of 2016 Scholarships

Las Vegas, NV, July 8, 2016 (Newswire.com) - ​Right C3 is proud to announce the winners of the first round of Survey Scholarship to Angelica Torres and Alexus Herring.  Each year, Right C3 holds a scholarship contest for graduating seniors in the program.  Right C3 uses these survey results to continually improve the program for current and future students. 

Angelica Torres was awarded $500 to help her with college expenses as she attends Colorado State University – Fort Collins to study Zoology in the Fall.  Angelica said Right C3 really helped her stay on track and “gave me faith that I didn’t know I had.” She will be the first of her siblings to attend a 4-year university. Her advice to future seniors is to “keep a good schedule and manage your time, so there will be less hassle in the end.”  Angelica was initially drawn to Colorado State because of their veterinary program; “I knew it was one of the best vet schools in the nation.” When she went to visit, she was convinced it would be a good fit for her. “I liked the campus and the environment. There seemed to be so many more opportunities for connecting and support.” She also knew the Zoology program would be a good fit for her goals.

Alexus Herring was awarded $250 to help with college expenses as she attends Columbus State University to study Early Childhood Education this Fall.  Alexus thought Right C3 did a great job helping her through the application process. “The document reviews allowed me to see them from another perspective.” She feels that the lessons learned through the program will help her throughout college and the rest of her life. When asked if she was nervous about getting into the only school she had applied to, Alexus beamed, “I was pretty confident I’d get in.”  Alexus definitely sees the value of education and has always wanted to become a teacher. She took advantage of her time in high school by participating in an internship program where she learned the basics of being a teacher. She felt that her friendly nature allowed her to connect with the students easily, and she’s looking forward to more time in the classroom.
