Rigid Building Systems Sponsors Tour du Rouge
Online, June 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Rigid Building Systems employee, David King, rode in this year's Tour du Rouge, a 6 day 526 mile bicycling event from Houston to New Orleans raising money for the American Red Cross. The Tour du Rouge was established in 2009 to raise both money and awareness of the work that the American Red Cross does for many Americans across the country. On the cross country ride, the cyclists visited people and places that had received Red Cross assistance to hear their stories. This year the Tour was comprised of 43 riders (a number that will surely grow significantly in future Tours).
"There are so many good causes in our world to help support, but I find that the American Red Cross is one that results in an almost instant gratification", said Mr. King. "Day in and day out we can see the results of their efforts. Since my involvement in this ride over the last two years, I've learned a lot about what all the American Red Cross does for people, not only in the United States, but all over the world. I look at the Red Cross as an organization that is constantly helping people in need RIGHT NOW!"
Mr. King personally raised $3,300 from his team of sponsors for the ride.
Rigid sponsors many charity and sporting events including the IZOD IndyCar Series to promote its line of steel buildings including churches, commercial and industrial steel structures, airplane hangars, agricultural equestrian centers and self storage buildings to name a few.
