Zimplistic co-founders Rishi Israni and Pranoti Nagarkar Israni announced today that the company will be featured in "Now Go Build with Werner Vogels," an Amazon Web Services (AWS) video series highlighting emerging start-ups from around the world that are changing daily life as we know it. Zimplistic is the manufacturer of the Rotimatic, a first-of-its-kind kitchen robot that combines IoT and AI-driven technology to allow consumers to make roti, flatbreads, tortillas and more with the touch of a button. The recognition came as the Zimplistic team celebrated 32 million rotis made globally with the Rotimatic.

"It's a tremendous honor to have our company and our product recognized by AWS," said Pranoti Nagarkar Israni, co-CEO and founder of Zimplistic. "This is a testament to our team's tireless work in perfecting the Rotimatic, modernizing culinary technology and leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence and IoT to revolutionize kitchens around the world."

We look forward to using the AWS platform to support this mission and are excited to continue improving its capabilities as we expand Rotimatic's availability to India next year. This impending expansion to India is a critical next step for us as we work towards our goal of reaching one million households by 2022.

Launched in 2016, the Rotimatic has automated the tedious task of making flatbreads, which are consumed daily by more than one billion people around the world. Since its launch, Zimplistic has sold more than 45,000 Rotimatic machines around the world and has enabled cleaner eating by allowing consumers to control the ingredients in their food. As the world's interest in smart kitchen products continues to grow, so too does the demand and market opportunity for Rotimatic.

"We've always been driven by our mission to simplify healthy eating for consumers balancing family, tradition and active lifestyles," said Rishi Israni, CEO and co-founder of Zimplistic. "We look forward to using the AWS platform to support this mission and are excited to continue improving its capabilities as we expand Rotimatic's availability to India next year. This impending expansion to India is a critical next step for us as we work towards our goal of reaching one million households by 2022."

Since debuting Rotimatic in the U.S. market in 2017, Zimplistic has tapped into the increasing purchasing power of the Indian-American dollar. South Asians are among the fastest growing immigrant groups in the U.S. and have increased in population from 2.2 million to 4.9 million over the past 15 years. Indian Americans represent about 80 percent of this demographic, and their $86,000 median household income nearly doubles that of average American households. Rotimatic powered by AWS has a plentiful opportunity to reach this audience, who maintains strong cultural traditions, see a clear need for the product, and have the income to invest in smart kitchen technology.

For more information on Zimplistic's story and how the Rotimatic is reinventing flatbread-making in kitchens around the world, tune in to the "Now Go Build" webisode of AWS going live this December.
