Salsa Dance Pros Flood the Valley to Teach and Perform

Online, August 2, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Palm Springs, Ca.- The Summer Salsa Extravaganza is your ticket to experiencing the most popular Latin dances in the world. Some of the most recognized names in the L.A. Salsa scene will be on hand to teach workshops and perform. This 3-day event takes place Aug 19-22 at the Renaissance Hotel in Palm Springs.

Over 40 dance workshops - from novice to advanced - will be held in various Latin dance genres including: Salsa, Casino Rueda, Bachata, Cha-cha and Argentine Tango. Private lessons with top instructors will be available. This is the perfect opportunity to learn tips and tricks straight from the pros.

The festivities kick off with Coachella Valley's own Salsa instructors, Luis and Lori, teaching the sultry Salsa. Luis Garcia, a Los Angeles native, began teaching Salsa in the desert in 1997 and in 1999 was joined by Lori Mullen, a Palm Springs native. Together, they've introduced Salsa dancing to thousands through their workshops and classes.

A special treat will be a live performance by Angel Lebron Y Su Sabor Latino on Saturday night. Born into a Puerto Rican family of professional musicians, Angel grew up with the Latin Big Band sound. His band brings back that traditional New York style orquestra flavor.

Shows and performances will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings. Guests will have the chance to dance the night away at the open dance every night until 4 a.m. The event offers a fun, healthy way to exercise, meet great people and just have a lot of fun. Guests also have the opportunity to take part in the pool parties. Vendors will be on hand to cater to your desires with clothing, DVDs, shoes, massages and of course, margaritas.

An annual event since 1998, the Summer Salsa Extravaganza brings together people from all walks of life with a single interest - dancing.
