Sangam University Bhilwara Rajasthan Celebrates 66th Independence Day

The purpose of celebrating the day is to uphold the very ideals of democracy, equality, liberty, fraternity, justice and the pursuit of everlasting happiness.

Though the pouring rains at Bhilwara sought to be a dampener and an obstacle to the 66th Independence Day celebrations, the enthusiasm of the students ensured that the event was observed with patriotic fervor, gaiety and enthusiasm.

The India today we live is infinitely more prosperous, more creative, more resilient and more self assured for a brighter India tomorrow than at any time since obtaining independence on 15th August 1947 when the country came out of the British rule, free to celebrate its diversity and differences, its many languages, faiths and cultures; free to be different and respected for it. The fundamental reason for this transformation is due to the citizens of India who do not hesitate to proclaim with passion "Proud to be an Indian".

On 15 August 2012 President - Vice Chancellor Prof BR Natarajan unfurled the tricolour in front of the main building which was followed by students and faculty of Sangam University - ITM Bhilwara singing the national anthem and several patriotic songs which included the all time great National Integration song "Saare Jahan Se Achha".

Prof Natarajan in his address pointed out that India is no ordinary nation - its indeed a great nation which stands united despite its very many diversities and that every Indian takes pride in ensuring that it remains one among the top ranking nation in economic performance in the global arena. He urged the students to take inspiration from the famous Tryst with Destiny speech by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru the first Prime Minister of Independent India. Prof NK Mathur Principal ITM Bhilwara also addressed the students and urged them to remember that they have a duty and responsibility for the larger task of nation building.
