Sarah Fimm To Release Near Infinite Possibility May 5, 2011

Her Seventh Studio Album ft. Josh Freese, Earl Slick and More

Composer, songwriter and singer Sarah Fimm announces the release of her seventh studio album, Near Infinite Possibility, due out May 5th. Her previous releases have received praise from Keyboard Magazine, Billboard and Rolling Stone, who named her third release, Nexus, as one of the top 10 albums of 2004 - alongside PJ Harvey, Franz Ferdinand and David Byrne.

Recorded in Woodstock, New Jersey, and Los Angeles, Near Infinite Possibility is a slight departure from Fimm's electronic compositions, and moves effortlessly into an edgy alternative and classic rock genre. With this release, Fimm layers her electronic/ambient signature sound with slightly bolder elements from rock artists who have inspired her for years. Lyrically, the album follows suit with Sarah's previous releases, exploring ideas of isolation, love, mental illness and subjective reality.

Produced by David Baron of Edison Music, Mixed by D. James Goodwin and Rich Travali, and mastered by Greg Calbi, Fimm's latest album features the talents of renowned musicians Josh Freese (The Vandals, A Perfect Circle), Earl Slick (David Bowie), Danny Blume (Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Jill Sobule), Paul Bushnell (Tracy Chapman, Luciano Pavarotti), Sara Lee (the B-52s), Sterling Campbell (Eric Clapton, B-52s, David Byrne) and more.

The album's first single, "Yellow", was inspired by Charlotte Perkins Gilman's short story, "The Yellow Wallpaper," a dark collection of journal entries written by a woman whose husband has put her on "rest cure;" confining her to a bedroom. The story depicts the effect of confinement on the narrator's mental health, and her descent into psychosis, paranoia, delusion and desperate fear, as the disparity between reality and the events of her mind crumble. - Sputnik Music

"I am really liking the sound of Sarah Fimm...You will especially not want to miss the official music video of 'Yellow' and a couple of others that have become some of my personal favorites like 'White Birds' and 'Flames'."
- From Karlyn

"Sarah Fimm burst back onto the music scene in 2009 after five years in hibernation with not one, not two, but three new releases, including the very impressive White Birds EP. Two years later, she's gearing up to release her latest studio album, Near Infinite Possibility."
- Wears the Trousers

"It's not common to find music which has a genre slant to it (soundtracks are a different beast, after all) or that contains messages influenced by revolutionary science figures like Carl Sagan or Stephen Hawking...[Near Infinite Possibility] sounds pretty intense."
- The World in the Satin Bag
