School Bullying/Violence Conference Coming To Arizona
In response to the rise in school bullying/violence, Building Strong Families National Seminars is presenting a school bullying prevention conference entitled the 'Standing Up To Bullying' Conference.
Online, October 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Introducing the latest international research on school (k-12) bullying and violence, the 'Standing Up To Bullying' conference is designed to empower and equip school administrators, educators, social workers, counselors, psychologists, and others who work with children with skills and tools designed to recognize, minimize or eradicate school bullying and violence. The presenter is Mark Lakewood, CEO and founder of Building Strong Families National Seminars, a distinguished bullying prevention expert, researcher, author, and speaker with over 20 years of clinical experience as a mental health therapist.
In 1986, Mr. Lakewood earned his Bachelors degree in Social Work at George Williams College, Downers Grove, Illinois. In 1987, while enrolled in the advanced standing program, Mr. Lakewood earned his Masters degree in Social Work at Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois.
Prior to starting his own private practice, he was employed at medical/psychiatric hospitals and clinics, and a family preservation agency. Mr. Lakewood has an extensive history providing therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. He also provided clinical and consultation services to numerous school administrators, educators, students, and families on issues of bullying and behavior management.
