Skarlet Blue Debut At #2 on ARIA Physical Singles Charts

Online, May 3, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Melbourne rock quartet Skarlet Blue have debuted on the ARIA Top 50 Physical Singles charts at #2 with their EP 'Simple Shades Of Grey'.

2010 has heralded a remarkable change in direction for Skarlet Blue, who recently underwent a sound and image revamp after an extensive tour of Australia and LA. Currently touring Australia to promote the EP, they have also been invited to perform at the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Appeal (featuring special guest Jerry Lewis) at the Melbourne Docklands on June 22.

The tour will culminate with a performance slot on the Rock And Roll Revolution launch tour in July, which will take them to the Tivoli (Brisbane) on the 22nd, the Metro (Sydney) on the 23rd and returning home to the Hi-Fi Bar (Melbourne) on the 24th.

'Simple Shades Of Grey' features five songs recorded at The Base Studios in South Melbourne engineered by Phil Threlfall, produced by Sam Panetta (Melodic Music) and mixed in LA by Andy Ellis. Chupa Chup has since used one of the tracks for an online promotional video.

The debut in the ARIA Physical Singles charts confirms that Skarlet Blue is a band to watch very closely. Bassist Ryan Di Cecco is thrilled with the chart position: "We are very pleased with the placing and hope to maintain the position across the next few weeks. We will work hard on playing good shows and continue to build our fan base."
