St.Cyril Catholic Church In Bannister 100 Year Anniversary

Online, July 2, 2011 (Newswire.com) - St Cyril Catholic Church of 517 e Main St, Bannister, Mi 48807 is celebrating its 100 year anniversary this year. the church was founded by Czech-Slovak immigrants in the fall of 1910, and the first church was built in 1911.

We will celebrate this anniversary Saturday evening, July sixteenth and Sunday July seventeenth, two-thousand eleven. A guitar mass at 5:00 pm will open the celebration. Featured will be the Jim Ginther family and Mark Cooley. Following the mass, festivities will follow at the ZCBJ Hall on Main Street. At 6:00 pm a luncheon of pork loin with all of the trimmings will be featured. At 7:00pm music will be provided by the Virgil Baker Band. Free will offerings will be accepted for these events.

Sunday morning at 10:00am will be Holy Mass with the Reverend Biships Cistone and Adamec. The KC Color guard will present along with former priests of the parish. At 11:30 a potluck will be open to the public at the parish hall. Meat, beverages and table service will be provided. Bring a dish to pass. At 12:30 or so music will begin, provided by Don Loomis Band (Christian Band). The Czech dancers will also provide entertainment. Church tours will be available. There will be an ice cream truck, hot dogs and popcorn along with beverages available. Games and prizes will be part of the afternoon.

St. Cyrils Catholic church is only 15 minutes east of US-127 on Wilson road and we would love to see you for our celebration. Czech-Slovak heritage is fun and laid back for all.

This will be a great event for people of all ages, and good old times entertainment. Accordion music and Czech dancers with great food and people, create wonderful memories for the entire family. Come out and relax with us.
