Staten Island New Lexus Debuting Soon

Online, March 15, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Lexus will debut the LFA with Nurburgring package at the Geneva Motor Show which begins on March 1st. Staten Island new Lexus buyers should take note that production of the LFA with this package will be limited to only 50 of the total 500 LFA vehicles to be produced. This very limited, special-edition vehicle has been tweaked for higher performance.

The Lexus LFA with Nurburgring package has undergone slight engine modifications to raise its power output by 7kW for an overall power output of 419kW. The 4.8-liter V10 engine has been upgraded to produce a total of 562 horsepower. The vehicle has an enhanced exhaust system and a recalibrated six-speed transmission that decreases shift speeds by 50 milliseconds to bring it down to 0.15 seconds. The LFA can reach sixty mile per hour from a standstill in 3.5 seconds and can reach speeds up to 202 miles per hour.

The LFA with Nurburgring package has lighter weight alloy wheels, carbon fiber aerodynamic modifications to the front bumper bar, and a permanent carbon fiber rear wing instead of the standard model's hydraulically adjustable one. The special package LFA also has a new front splitter, a larger rear spoiler, and a stiffer suspension than the standard LFA. Staten Island LX owners might be interested to know that pricing for the LFA with Nurburgring package starts at $425,000 which is $50,000 more than the standard LFA's base price.
