Stay Alfred, the nation’s leading provider of travel apartments, announced today the addition of the entire Motorworks Building to its New Orleans portfolio. Stay Alfred at The Motorworks Building marks the company’s fourth property in the city’s Central Business District and will offer upscale one-, two- and three-bedroom travel apartments.

Originally constructed in 1916 and used as a showroom for the Thomas B. Jeffery Automobile Company in the 1920s, the property now features contemporary renovations while maintaining its historic charm. In keeping with the company’s ethos of only offering upscale travel apartments in the best downtown locations, guests of Stay Alfred at The Motorworks Building are within close proximity to restaurants, theaters and the Superdome.

“New Orleans is one of our most popular destinations, and we’re thrilled to provide our guests with an additional offering in the city,” said Jordan Allen, Founder and CEO of Stay Alfred. “At the core of our business is our continued pride in operating at the highest legal standard in each of our municipalities. With the New Orleans City Council meeting on August 8 to set new short-term rental laws, we remain as dedicated as ever to this commitment. We look forward to hosting visitors from around the world, offering them a taste of the ‘Big Easy’ in this historic building.”

The Stay Alfred units at The Motorworks Building all feature a dedicated living space, full kitchen, washer and dryer, free Wi-Fi, plus a self-guided check-in process. In addition, guests have access to all on-site building amenities, including a gym and a rooftop plaza.

“Given its contemporary warehouse-style location in the Warehouse District and proximity to the Superdome, Convention Center, and most of New Orleans’ best restaurants, the Motorworks has been a popular building for our residents since we redeveloped it,” said Beau Baudier, developer of Motorworks. “As we enter the second century of its prominence in downtown New Orleans, we are confident that partnering with Stay Alfred was the best way to share the appeal of this historic building with guests from not only New Orleans but from all over the country and the world.”

Stay Alfred partners with developers, property management companies, real estate investment trusts and family offices to provide unique travel experiences and improve the net operating income of multifamily assets through a mixed-use model with a hospitality component. The company has hosted more than 700,000 guests across the nation since its beginnings in 2011, operating more than 2,500 professionally managed travel apartments in 33 states. Each unit combines the quality, consistency and guest support of a hotel with the lifestyle amenities of an upscale residential building.
