Houston Rapper Enlist Supreme Republic Entertainment To Push Collaboration With Mad Decent EDM Duo GTA

From the stage to the recording studio, well renowned EDM group GTA teams up with Houston rapper on forthcoming project.

After a successful release of his smash single "Daily," Houston emcee STOPPA is back to deliver more goods with the visual release for his single "Hype Now."

"I've always been inspired by artist like Pharrell and Andre 3000 who have used all type of sounds to express themselves in their music. I wanted to integrate certain EDM elements in my music because I admire the way it is designed sonically. The bass, synths and drops are essential when you're a crafting your portrait as an artist."

Stoppa, Recording Artist

The single is the first from his highly anticipated EP titled "Weed, Water, Wifi." The album which was inspired by Stoppa’s mother who at the time was battling both breast cancer and lung cancer decided to change his diet to help his mother overcome her fight. The both of them embarked on an all natural fruit and food diet, consuming multitudes of water and exercise. Ultimately, his mother would beat cancer and Stoppa soon after moved to Los Angeles to further his career.

"My mother's battle with cancer made me take my life a little more seriously," says Stoppa."It opened up my eyes in a lot of ways by understanding that everything is a test of faith. Even when someone tells you, you won't make it you still keep faith."

Aside from GTA’s involvement, this project also features production from Sydney, Australia super producer Wax Motif, multi–platinum selling duo Sound M.O.B, Beat Joven and Stoppa himself. In the visual for "Hype Now," viewers will see Stoppa in a fun environment with his friends as he sings into a pineapple. The pineapple not only represents the fruit Stoppa and his mom indulges on occasion, but is also an illustration of everything Stoppa wants his music to reflect, which is fresh, vibrant and fibrous.

“Music has always been part of my DNA,” recalls Stoppa. “I've always been inspired by artist like Pharrell and Andre 3000 who have used all type of sounds to express themselves in their music. I wanted to integrate certain EDM elements in my music because I admire the way it is designed sonically. The bass, synths and drops are essential when you're a crafting your portrait as an artist."

Stoppa is widely- known for his song "Pressure," the record was released during the Houston Rockets playoff run and got so hot he received massive love from the city of Houston.
