Sudhir Mishra, Chitrangada Singh And Arunoday To Visit Maadhyam 2011

Online, January 27, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication (UG) will host its first ever cultural -cum- media festive extravaganza called Maadhyam on the 27th, 28th and 29th January, 2011 at the Symbiosis International University, Vimanagar Campus.

Maadyam invites cast of Yeh Saali Zindagi on campus on the 28th January, 2011. Yeh Saali Zindagi is an upcoming Hindi romantic thriller directed by Sudhir Mishra scheduled for release on 4th February, 2011. Chitrangada Singh, Arunoday and Sudhir Mishra would be present for an interaction with the students about their new movie.

'Maadhyam' meaning a medium of expressing ones thoughts and ideas would be a 3 day event with 3 different themes for each day. Thought being the theme for day 1 is devoted to Advertising, Public Relations & Event Management with Brian Tellis (Co-founder and Managing Director, Fountainhead Promotions & Events) and Mr Amer Jaleel (National Creative Director, Lowe Lintas). Blot is the theme for Day 2 dedicated to Journalism whereas, Shot represents Audio-Visual as a theme for Day 3 with Amitabh Shukla (Film Editor of films like Action Replayy, London Dreams, Singh Is King, Kismat Konnection, Chak De India! Namastey London, Kabul Express, Bluffmaster! Paheli, Krrish, Chalte Chalte).

Each day is divided into 3 segments. The first segment will consist of a seminar where media stalwarts would interact with the students on a one on one basis. The second segment, post lunch will host a series of competitive events largely reliant on the themes for individual days. The last segment of the day would be a sundowner called LMAO i.e. Standup comedy by Sorabh Pant on Day 1, Nacho a dance competition on Day 2 and a Live in Concert by Tough on Tobacco on Day 3.

Sorabh Pant is a standup comedian and has performed over 60 shows across the country. His comedy show, "Pant on Fire" has toured across Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi; with 22 shows in 9 months. Tough on Tobacco is a humor-tinged pop-rock-reggae 6 member band from Mumbai. The band had released their debut album The Happy Goat in 2009 and is currently working on their second studio album.

Maadhyam has a strong online presence with over 1000 followers on Facebook and an active Twitter account. It unlocked the Foursquare Swarm badge on 14th January, 2011 with 50+ people checking in the Maadhyam fest venue at the same time making it India's second group to have done so. Maadhyam now aims at unlocking the Super Swarm and Super Duper Swarm badge during the 3 days of the fest by simultaneous check in of 250+ and 500+ people respectively, making it the first ever group in India thereby creating a landmark in internet history. Also, numerous online contests have already begun thus, creating a pre-event buzz.
