Surfrider Foundation San Diego Joins the Solar Energy Revolution
Sullivan Solar Power teams up with the local Surfrider Foundation chapter
SAN DIEGO, October 31, 2018 (Newswire.com) - This summer, Surfrider Foundation San Diego and Sullivan Solar Power announced a solar program for Surfrider members aimed at helping members ditch fossil fuels while also giving back to the organization. Eliminating dirty fossil fuels and switching to solar energy can prevent future oil spills, ocean acidification, and rising sea levels. As part of Surfrider Foundation’s Purchase with Purpose program, Sullivan Solar Power donates $500 to Surfrider Foundation San Diego for every member household that goes solar.
“The production and use of renewable energy sources, such as solar, is a way to curb emissions and slow climate change,” said Michael Torti, Executive Committee Chair of Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter, “Our team is proud to announce Sullivan Solar Power, a San Diego solar company, as a partner of supporting Surfrider San Diego Chapter's efforts to protect our communities’ ocean, waves, and beaches.”
Partnering with Surfrider Foundation San Diego is a natural fit - reducing our fossil fuel consumption locally will have a positive impact on the ocean and on our beaches. Through this partnership, our donations will allow Surfrider Foundation San Diego to further their great work in the community while helping families save money and reduce their carbon footprint.

Sullivan Solar Power then participated as a sponsor at Surfrider Foundation San Diego’s Paddle for Clean Water fundraiser in Ocean Beach in September. This month Surfrider Foundation San Diego had an information booth at the San Diego Clean Energy Fair, which was co-hosted by Sullivan Solar Power. The next Surfrider Foundation San Diego solar program event will be on Tuesday, November 13 at the Pacific Beach Taylor Branch Library.
“Partnering with Surfrider Foundation San Diego is a natural fit - reducing our fossil fuel consumption locally will have a positive impact on the ocean and on our beaches,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and President of Sullivan Solar Power, “Through this partnership, our donations will allow Surfrider Foundation, San Diego, to further their great work in the community while helping families save money and reduce their carbon footprint.”
As a leader in coastal preservation, Surfrider Foundation aims to prevent further drastic changes to our ocean, waves, and beaches by advocating for an overall reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Going solar is one of the easiest ways San Diegans can take charge and reduce their carbon footprint.
