Swapping instead of shopping in Phoenix

People from all over the Phoenix valley are attending clothing swaps where they can bring their clothing items that they don't wear anymore and trade for items they can use from other members.

Phoenix, AZ-November 30, 2009-"Swapping is the new shopping!" Swap Phoenix has held 27 clothing swaps over the last two years in the Phoenix area, and with over three hundred members in November, the swapping group continues to grow every month!

Swap Phoenix is a group for people interested in swapping their clothing items they can no longer use for items they can use from other members. The group meets once a month in various locations around the valley to swap. Members bring their new or gently used items that they no longer wear or have outgrown and then get to pick from items brought by other members. The average swapper brings and leaves with one garbage bag full of clothing.

Swappers bring everything from baby clothes to adult sizes as well as shoes and accessories. Swapping is always free for first time swappers and only $10 a year for returning swappers to help cover costs.

After the swap is over, all leftovers are donated to a local women's shelter or a local homeless shelter.

Swap Phoenix has been featured in USA Today, The Arizona Republic, Good Morning Arizona, 12 News Today, ABC 15 news, and more!
